  The Great Outdoors
Jennie Stagliano, Editor

Whether tending my rose garden; or sitting on the back patio listening to the calming sounds of nature; or watching my son's little league team, the unerring surroundings of the great outdoors always make me feel my best.

During intense summer storms I am more content to occupy a chair on the front porch to watch Mother Nature deliver her fury than seek dry, safe refuge in the confines of our home.

On more than one occasion, my husband has remarked that if given the opportunity, I would have our home constructed entirely of glass and well stocked with Windex and paper towels.

For me, everything is better outdoors ...sights and sounds are better...outlooks are better...even my cooking is better.

In this issue you'll find projects and tips that help make outdoor life more enjoyable and memorable, including a scrapbook page designed around the beauty of Sequoia National Park. We've also included summertime activities to keep school deprived kids occupied.

The earth-tone color palette on this scrapbook project was chosen to capture the vast beauty of Sequoia National Park.  This page is an example of how easy it is to create layers of borders using the NEW Memory Book Dot N' Go™.  Pop Up Glue Dots® give the nature trail signs dimension and shadows.

Visit our Project Gallery for a list of supplies and complete instructions.

  On a Blustery Day

Insects aren't the only thing that can spoil your family cook out. A few Removable Glue Dots® positioned near the corners of a vinyl, plastic or disposable paper picnic table cloth will prevent the wind from blowing away your prize potato salad.
